Dr Vaggelis Kapoulas obtained his Computer Engineering diploma from the Computer Science and Engineering Department, School of Engineering, University of Patras, Greece. He obtained his Ph.D. from the same department. He is currently an R&D engineer, and Head of Research Unit 6: Networks Telematics and New Services, Computer Technology Institute and Press - Diophantus (CTI), Greece. His research interests include Networks, Telematics and Algorithms for Distributed Systems. He has extended professional experience in the Analysis and Design of Networks, Applications of Networks and Advanced Network Services, Telematic Applications, Open & Distance Learning and Tele-working. He has participated in numerous (more than 50) R&D projects in several national and EU (co)funded programmes. He has published more than 10 articles in scientific journals and more than 50 research papers in various well-known refereed conferences.
